Player Picks
Player Picks is a Daily Fantasy Sports competition where you can choose different stat projections for individual athletes across a variety of sports and periods of play. Unlike other pick types, Player Picks can’t be submitted as a solo pick. Instead, they must be combined with at least one other Player Pick that includes an athlete from a different team to create an eligible Lineup.
How do I submit a Player Picks lineup?
- Navigate to the Player Picks board in the app to view the picks available
- Pick between 2 and 6 projections.* Selections can include multiple different sports and/or stat types.
- Hit "Finalize Lineup" found in the banner along the bottom of your screen
- Choose "More" or "Less" for each projection
- Choose either "Flex Play" or "Power Play"
- Edit your entry fee as needed (the default entry fee is usually set at $20)
- Hit the blue button that says "Submit Lineup" and you're done!
*Residents in Colorado will need to pick a minimum of 3 projections.
Can I make any selection I want?
For the most part, you can select any combination of players in your lineup, regardless of the sport. However, there are a few key exceptions:
You must have picks from AT LEAST 2 different teams in order for it to be a valid lineup.
You can not have the same player in your lineup more than once, unless Stacks are available for that player.
Some sports also have specific rules. For example, you can not have a pitcher and an opposing batter in the same lineup. You can find those specific rules in the scoring chart for that particular sport.
The scoring chart can be accessed in the app by tapping the menu in the top left corner. Go to “Help Center” and switch to the “Scoring Chart” tab along the top. If you’re using a web browser, the scoring chart link is in yellow text directly above the projection squares.
How much money can I put on a single lineup?
The minimum entry fee is $1, using either promo funds or credit funds (but not both at the same time). If you have less than $1 in both fund balances, you will not be able to submit a lineup.
The maximum entry fee, often referred to as a limit, varies depending on the Member, sport, or stat-type. Limits can change at any time at the sole discretion of PrizePicks.
Members may only submit 1 Lineup per PrizePicks contest.
What about Demons and Goblins?
In addition to standard Player Pick projections, you may see squares that have a red Demon or a green Goblin icon. These special projections allow you to push the difficulty slider up or down depending on how much risk you feel comfortable taking on.
Demons are a little wild. They're harder to win, but including them in your lineup opens the door for higher payouts - up to 2000x!
Goblins love the green. They're easier to win, but they decrease your payout multipliers.
Demon and Goblin FAQ
Why can't I select "Less"?
Demon and Goblin projections will only give you the option to select "More". This is because the projections are specially designed to be easier or harder to hit than normal projections. This only works if you remove one of the choices.
Can I add more than one Demon or Goblin to my lineup?
Yes, you can add as many Demons or Goblins as you like to a lineup.
Can I add both a Demon and a Goblin to my lineup?
Yes, you can!
Can I include regular projections along with Demons and/or Goblins?
Yes, your lineup can include any combination of Demons, Goblins, and regular (unmarked) projections.
Can I use a promotion on a lineup that includes Demons and/or Goblins?
It depends on the promotion. Demons and Goblins may not be used with Taco Tuesday discounts, Max Discounts, or some types of Bonus Lineups. Please double check the terms of the promotion to see if Demons and Goblins are compatible.
Will a Demon guarantee a 2000x payout?
No. Demon projections vary in how much of a boost they provide.
If you’re shooting for the max payout, try adding multiple Demons to your lineup and check your payout multiplier before locking in.
