NBA Trade Deadline Day: 4 Players Who Could Be Traded
The below quartet of options could be moved before today's 3:00 p.m. ET deadline.
1) Bucks F Giannis Antetokounmpo
Antetokounmpo is the biggest name on the trade market. The Milwaukee Bucks star told reporters Tuesday that he wants to remain with the team that drafted him for the rest of his career, but that doesn’t mean he’s not open to a better situation. Contenders are positioning themselves to make massive offers for the two-time MVP and one-time Defensive Player of the Year in hopes of improving their title odds this year.
The Golden State Warriors might be out of the running this season after trading F Jonathan Kuminga to the Atlanta Hawks for C Kristaps Porzingis. The New York Knicks, Miami Heat, and Minnesota Timberwolves still stand out as likely suitors, though.
Antetokounmpo could very well end up staying with Milwaukee this year if the Bucks don’t receive a desirable trade offer. PrizePicks NBA team picks suggest that that’s the most likely outcome.
2) Grizzlies G Ja Morant
The Memphis Grizzlies sent Jaren Jackson Jr. to the Utah Jazz in a blockbuster trade earlier this week, and could still trade another star to jumpstart their rebuilding process. They’ve reportedly drastically lowered their asking price for the floor general as the deadline nears and want to prioritize their young core moving forward.
Miami and Minnesota are among the teams that have been linked to Morant the most, but both teams are monitoring Antetokounmpo’s availability as well.
Memphis now owns 13 future first-round picks over the next seven years after dealing Jackson, and doesn’t seem likely to part with draft capital to move Morant. His value appears to have dropped significantly, and his path to a new team will likely clear up if Antetokounmpo’s situation is updated sooner, rather than later.
3) Nets F Michael Porter Jr.
MPJ is amid a career year with the Brooklyn Nets, but the trade market for the sharpshooter appears to have calmed down.
The 27-year-old wing averages 25.5 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 3.2 assists as a Net, while shooting 38.9% from deep. That could make him an ideal target for contenders in need of perimeter scoring.
The Warriors, Bucks, Detroit Pistons, and Chicago Bulls were reportedly among the top landing spots for Porter earlier this year, according to NBA insider Jake Fischer. However, the Dubs, Pistons, and Bulls have already made major trade moves.
Few volume scorers can match Porter’s efficiency, and that’ll help him remain attractive to teams until the very end.
4) Trail Blazers G Jrue Holiday
Holiday has flown under the radar for most of the 2025-26 season after being sent from the Boston Celtics to the Portland Trail Blazers. The 35-year-old defensive stopper can still help a good team take the next step, though.
While Holiday has only played in 22 games this season, he’s averaging more points (14.4), assists (6.6), and steals per game than he did in either of his two years with the Celtics. The two-time champion has reportedly drawn interest from at least one legitimate contender.
The Knicks called the Trail Blazers to inquire about what it would take to acquire Holiday in January. His presence could play a key role in enticing Antetokounmpo to New York, as the duo has already won a title together in Milwaukee.
Holiday is pricey in the second season of a four-year, $134 million deal, but few expected him to finish his current contract in Portland when he landed there. He’s viewed as a valuable asset who contributes to winning basketball, regardless of his age.
