4 NFL Fantasy Football Bold Predictions for Week 7: Caleb Williams Ascending?

I can’t walk down the street without being asked, “Dude, how’d you do on last week’s fantasy bold predictions?”

Okay, that’s not true one iota. More accurately, I can’t walk down the street without being asked, “Dude, why do you get a trenta at Starbucks? Isn’t a grande enough?”

First of all, no, a grande isn’t ever enough, and second of all, I’m going to tell you how I did on my boldies even though you didn’t ask. Because I’m just that awesome.

1) This Might Not Be the Breakout Week for Eagles RB Saquon Barkley

Nailed it. The disappointing fantasy season for Eagles RB Saquon Barkley trudged on last Thursday — in Philly’s 34-17 loss to the Giants, Barkley managed just 58 rushing yards on 12 carries, and 9 yards on 2 receptions, landing him at RB21 for the week (ugh) and RB17 for the season (more ugh). Alan’s grade: A+.

2) Browns QB Dillon Gabriel Could Get a Historically Ugly Welcome to the AFC North

Historically ugly might be an overstatement, but the Browns’ rookie signal caller Dillon Gabriel wasn’t exactly Roman Gabriel in Sunday's 23-9 loss to Pittsburgh, managing 221 yards on 29-of-52 attempts, the second-most attempts in a single game this season.

He was the week’s QB27, which — small consolation — put him ahead of Titans QB Cam Ward. Alan’s grade: B-.

3) Rams QB Matthew Stafford Could Deliver a Historically Ugly Beatdown of the Ravens

Yeah, not so much.

As hasn’t been the case for the majority of the 2025 season, the Ravens D decided to show up, limiting Stafford to 181 yards on 17-of-26 passing. Despite tossing a touchdown, his QBR in the 17-3 loss was a gnarly 56.7.

You can blame that in part for the second half loss of WR Puka Nacua (ankle), but I’m not the kind of guy to point fingers. I blame it on myself. Alan’s Grade: F.

4) Jaguars QB Trevor Lawrence Might Turn Into the Generational Signal Caller Some Envisioned

Oops.

Listen, Jags QB Trevor Lawrence wasn’t terrible in Jacksonville’s 20-12 loss to Seattle — he was the week’s QB13 — but he was far from generational, unlike Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes, who’s almost always generational (31.5 fantasy points, QB1). To repeat: Oops. Alan’s grade: D.

So my Week 7 GPA was a 1.93. Welcome to Flunk City, population, me. Let’s see if I can raise my grades in Week 7.

4 NFL Fantasy Football Bold Predictions for Week 7

1) We Could See Bears QB Caleb Williams’ Best Game as a Pro

In Chicago’s Monday Night walk-off 25-24 semi-upset over Washington, Williams was eminently the veritable definition of okay, compiling 252 passing yards on 17-of-29 attempts, tossing for a tuddy, and rushing for another. His total of exactly zero turnovers is part of the reason he was Week 6’s QB10, his third top-ten fantasy finish in five outings.

On Sunday, the Bears welcome the Saints to Soldier Field, where Williams will stare down the league’s 17th-ranked passing defense. Anecdotally speaking, Bears HC Ben Johnson isn’t the type to draw up similar back-to-back game plans, so after leaning on the rush against Washington, Williams could see way more than 29 attempts, thus it’s possible — just possible — that the former Heisman winner could top his personal best of 4 TDs in a single game (10/13/24 and 9/21/25).

2) We Could See Dolphins Tua Tagovailoa’s Worst Game as a Pro

Miami isn’t winless — the only team with a goose egg in the victory column is the Jets, because, Jets — but it could be argued they’re the NFL’s worst team. And if they’re not the worst, they’re certainly the most dysfunctional

After pulling defeat from the jaws of victory in a 29-27 loss to the Chargers on Sunday, Tua publicly threw his teammates under the bus, and while we don’t have metrics for this, it’s a fair to assume that when your quarterback poops on you, you might not go out of your way to, y’know, help him win.

The fact that Miami is visiting Cleveland and their uber-solid pass defense (182.7 yards per game allowed through the air, 14 sacks) will make things even more difficult for the sixth-year man who, in terms of QBR (50.5) is suffering through arguably the worst season of his career.

But who knows, maybe by the time Sunday’s kickoff rolls around, the Fins will have fired HC Mike McDaniel, and everybody’s life will be a whole lot better.

Tua Tagovailoa PrizePicks Projections: 214.5 Passing Yards, 3.5 Rushing Yards

3) Bijan Robinson Could Do It Again — Except Better

Falcons RB Bijan Robinson is Barkley’s statistical mirror image, especially in FantasyLand, where he sits a mere 0.8 fantasy points behind Colts RB Jonathan Taylor as this season’s RB2.

His 29.9 (RB2) fantasy point deluge against the Bills in Monday’s 24-14 shocker over Buffalo was a thing of beauty — dude’s one of the best jukers of his generation — and he’s on such a heater that it’s distinctly possible he’ll go even more bonkers against a 49ers defense that just lost their top linebacker in Fred Warner.

4) This Might Not Be the Breakout Week for Eagles RB Saquon Barkley: The Sequel

As a public service announcement, I’m going to copy-and-paste the paragraph from my Saquon diss earlier in the article:

“The disappointing fantasy season for Eagles RB Saquon Barkley trudged on last Thursday — in Philly’s 34-17 loss to the Giants, Barkley managed just 58 rushing yards on 12 carries, and 9 yards on 2 receptions, landing him at RB21 for the week (ugh) and RB17 for the season (more ugh).”

I don’t see Sake turning things around against a Minnesota defense that’s given up a mere 534 yards on the ground (fifth-fewest) here in ‘25. So fantasy managers stuck with the Philly (sort of) flyer will continue banging their heads against their laptops.

Saquon Barkley PrizePicks Projections: 80.5 Rushing Yards, 15.5 Receiving Yards
