Super Bowl 61 Favorites, Payouts, Way-Too-Early Picks: Seahawks Repeat?

The Seattle Seahawks celebrate their Super Bowl victory.

Super Bowl 60 is in the books, and the Seattle Seahawks, who did not make the postseason in 2024, are your champions.

This past Super Bowl showed us that it’s not always the big favorites that make it to the final game, as both the Seahawks and Patriots were long shots to begin the 2025 season, while the mainstay Chiefs, Eagles, and Niners all watched from home.

Now we turn our attention to Super Bowl 61. While we still have to wait to have free agency in March, the NFL draft in April, and a schedule release, we can still look at what we know and make some picks for next February.

Let's sift through our Super Bowl 61 favorites and way-too-early picks and discuss who could make it to, and potentially win, the Super Bowl, and break down the possible payouts for each team’s Futures on PrizePicks Team Picks if each wins.

With PrizePicks Team Picks, you can get in on who you think will win the Super Bowl in the NFL futures section, and earn real money if you're right. All Super Bowl payouts listed are at the time of writing and are subject to change.

Who Will Win Super Bowl 61?

Here are our top three Super Bowl contenders as we turn the page to Super Bowl 61.

The Super Bowl champion Seahawks are a slight favorite to repeat, while the Rams are right behind them after losing to Seattle in the NFC title game.

The AFC is wide open, but we have a sneaky pick to win that conference next year.

#3: Los Angeles Chargers (Lost in 2025 Wild Card Round)

NFL Super Bowl Winner Payout via PrizePicks Team Picks: 11.11x Yes | 1.03x No

There is a long offseason still to be had, but the Los Angeles Chargers struck the first bell of a winning offseason with the hiring of former Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel as their new offensive coordinator.

McDaniel has a lot to be criticized for in his four-year stint with Miami, but he also has a lot to be praised for, namely his work with the Dolphins offense when it was healthy. Some NFL head coaches are better as offensive coordinators, and McDaniel has that chance with a very talented Chargers team.

The Chargers put up a dud in the Wild Card round against the eventual AFC Champion Patriots, but making it that far was an accomplishment in itself. The Chargers had numerous injuries on the offensive line, a QB playing with a fractured wrist, and a rookie RB who missed eight of 17 games. Yet, they won 11 games and earned a playoff spot. One AP voter went so far as to vote Justin Herbert for MVP because of what little he had to work with. That was going too far, but you get the point.

Now, enter a proven offensive coordinator who excels in game planning and run game execution, and you have the makings of a contending offense. The Chargers had a top-five defense in yards and a top-ten defense in scoring. With healthy bodies coming back and a former head coach running the offense, Jim Harbaugh has a team that could play in the Super Bowl in their own stadium.

#2: Los Angeles Rams (Lost in 2025 NFC Championship)

NFL Super Bowl Winner Payout via PrizePicks Team Picks: 7.69x Yes | 1.05x No

In 2025, I was high on the Rams all offseason, and into the very end of the NFC Championship game. In the end, it was the Seahawks hoisting the Lombardi Trophy as champions, but it very well could’ve been the Rams.

Los Angeles lost the final two games to Seattle by a combined five points, and if not for the controversial two-point conversion in Week 16, the NFC title game could’ve been in LA, changing the narrative and outcome.

But it wasn’t, and that’s 2025. Let’s look at 2026. MVP QB Matthew Stafford already announced he was coming back during his MVP speech, and he will have All-Pro WR Puka Nacua and WR Davonte Adams out wide and the two-headed monster of Kyren Williams and Blake Corum behind him.

Los Angeles was the only team in the NFL to have their offense and defense in the top five of both offensive and defensive DVOA (first on offense, third on defense) in 2025. Their offense was tops in the league in scoring (30.5 PPG), total yards (394.6 yards per game), yards per play (6.2), and passing at 268.1 yards per game.

Head Coach Sean McVay already has a Super Bowl ring and very well could’ve won it all again this season. The Rams lost to the eventual champions in each of the last two postseasons by a combined nine points. “Almost” doesn’t get you a Super Bowl title, but it will keep you in play until the end.

#1: Seattle Seahawks (Won 2025 Super Bowl)

NFL Super Bowl Winner Payout via PrizePicks Team Picks: 7.14x Yes | 1.07x No

You really have to like what you saw from this Seattle team this past season, not just because they won the Super Bowl, but how they did it.

Everyone will remember the dominant defensive performance of Super Bowl 60, where the Patriots had just 78 yards and no points through three quarters. The defensive showcase included 6 sacks, a 58% pressure rate, and a TD.  The Seahawks finished the season with the top defense per DVOA, lead the NFL in rush yards per play (3.7) and pass yards per play (5.5), and are second in scoring defense (18.1 PPG) and total yards per play (4.58)

But you can’t stop there. The Seahawks brought in Sam Darnold, a resurgent QB and posted the third-best scoring offense in football (28.4 PPG), with a top-ten passing and top-ten rushing game. Darnold, who is signed for two more years, has a full season under his belt and will have to get used to a new offensive coordinator with Klint Kubiak headed to Las Vegas, but with back-to-back 14-win seasons for the USC star, confidence has to be at an all-time high. His weapons include Super Bowl MVP, RB Kenneth Walker III, and one of the best WRs in all of football in Jaxson Smith-Njigba.

Seattle’s special teams are no joke either as we saw in their Super Bowl win. K Jason Myers set a Super Bowl record with 5 FGs, and punter Michael Dickson had 3 punts downed inside the Patriots' six-yard line.

With talent across the board and a young, innovative coach in Mike Macdonald, who just proved you can win a title in only your second year, Seattle will enter 2026 as a favorite to repeat.
