Here are the wheres, whens, and whos of this week's impressive batch of contests.
Detroit Lions vs. Chicago Bears
Time: 1 p.m. ET
Where to Watch: FOX
What to Watch For: The Lions surrendered 4 sacks and managed just a combined 2.1 yards per carry courtesy of Lions RBs Jahmyr Gibbs (19 yards on nine totes) and David Montgomery (25 yards on 11 attempts). Watch how Detroit counters Chicago’s formidable linebackers, Tremaine Edmunds and T.J. Edwards.
As for the Monsters of the Midway, rookie QB Caleb Williams completed 21-of-35 passes for 210 yards and a TD with 0 INT. Can Detroit’s pass rush keep Williams off balance?
Best Pick: Caleb Williams 27.5 Rush Yards
- Caleb Williams rushed for 58 yards on 6 carries with a 9.7 YPC average in Week 1 against the Minnesota Vikings.
- The former Heisman Trophy winner has averaged 28.4 rushing yards per game over his last five games, dating back to last season.
- The Lions allowed 454 rushing yards to QBs in 2024 (26.7 yards per game), ranking near the bottom of the league.
- In 2024, when facing QB who ran for more than 250-plus rushing yards, Detroit surrendered 331 yards on 49 carries in eight of their 17 games.
- Detroit posted the fifth-lowest pressure rate last week.
New York Jets vs. Buffalo Bills
Time: 1 p.m. ET
Where to Watch: CBS
What to Watch For: The Bills enter 1-0 after shocking Baltimore 41-40 thanks to an epic performance from QB Josh Allen — we're talking 394 passing yards and 2 rushing TDs.
Meanwhile, new Jets QB Justin Fields and his crew will look to recover after a 34-32 loss to Pittsburgh in which Fields threw for 218 yards, while RB Breece Hall churned out 107 rushing yards.
Best Pick: Josh Allen 231.5 Pass Yards
- The reigning MVP averages 232.0 passing yards per game in 11 career games against the Jets.
- In Week 1, the Jets surrendered 244 passing yards to Aaron Rodgers and the Steelers.
- Josh Allen passed for 275 yards in Buffalo's last meeting with the Jets.
Dallas Cowboys vs. New York Giants
Time: 1 p.m. ET
Where to Watch: FOX
What to Watch For: Can Javonte Williams repeat Week 1's 2-TD outing? Can WR CeeDee Lamb again post 7 receptions for 110 yards? And can QB Dak Prescott avoid eating turf? Questions, questions, questions...
For their part, the G-Men must unlock Giants QB Russell Wilson (17-of-37 for 168) and finish drives after scoring 6 points in Week 1. Defensively, the Jints notched 3 sacks, but their run D yielded 220 rushing yards, which could be an issue against Dallas’ downhill approach.
Best Pick: Dak Prescott 245.5 Pass Yards
- Against the Giants, Dak Prescott averaged 261 passing yards per game over 15 career matchups, totaling 3,915 yards.
- In Week 1, Prescott threw for 188 yards, but Cowboys WRs dropped an additional 63 air yards.
- The New York Giants surrendered 453 total yards to the Washington Commanders last week.
Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Seattle Seahawks
Time: 1 p.m. ET
Where to Watch: FOX
What to Watch For: Steelers QB Aaron Rodgers opened with 244 yards and 4 TDs on 22-of-30 passing in a 34-32 win, capped by K Chris Boswell’s 60-yard go-ahead field goal.
Seattle mustered 234 total yards and only 3.2 per carry, with Seattle QB Sam Darnold posting 150 passing yards in a 17-13 defeat to San Francisco. Watch whether Darnold gets WR Cooper Kupp and WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba going and avoids stuff like the DL Nick Bosa strip-sack that sealed Week 1.
Best Pick: DK Metcalf 65.5 Receiving Yards
- DK Metcalf recorded 83 receiving yards on just 4 receptions in his Steelers debut.
- His 20.8 yards per reception average was straight-up elite, ranking 10th among all receivers in Week 1.
- 73 of Metcalf's 83 yards came after the catch.
- Seattle surrendered the seventh-most yards after catch (130) in Week 1.
Miami Dolphins vs. New England Patriots
Time: 1 p.m. ET
Where to Watch: CBS
What to Watch For: Miami’s resurrection hinges on utilizing its team speed after a 33-8 Week 1 flop in which they managed a mere 211 total yards and held the ball for just 21-plus minutes. Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa put up a subpar 114 yards with 2 INTs, but the good news is that WRs Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle — who combined for 8 receptions for 70 yards against Indy — now face a Pats secondary that allowed 362 passing yards to QB Geno Smith.
Patriots QB Drake Maye went 30-of-46 for 287 yards and a TD, but New England was 4-of-14 on third down with 60 rushing yards. If Maye settles in, he’ll test a Miami defense that yielded 418 yards and a 38:43 time of possession.
Best Pick: Drake Maye 220.5 Pass Yards
- Drake Maye completed 30 of 46 passes for 287 yards against the Las Vegas Raiders.
- The sophomore averaged 287.0 passing yards per game in his rookie season.
- New England threw 46 times in Week 1, so don't be shocked if Maye lets it rip against Miami’s weak secondary.
- Miami’s secondary allowed Colts QB Daniel Jones to complete 75.9% of his passes for 272 yards and 1 TD.
Cincinnati Bengals vs. Jacksonville Jaguars
Time: 1 p.m. ET
Where to Watch: CBS

Jacksonville’s run game popped last week, with RB Travis Etienne Jr. hitting 143 yards. And QB Trevor Lawrence avoided being sacked in HC Liam Coen's debut, a 26–10 victory.
Best Pick: Ja’Marr Chase 85.5 Receiving Yards
- Chase has averaged 113 yards per game in two career matchups against Jacksonville.
- He posted 149 receiving yards and 1 touchdown on 11 receptions in their most recent meeting.
- In 2024, Chase averaged 100.5 receiving yards per game.
Tennessee Titans vs. Los Angeles Rams
Time: 1 p.m. ET
Where to Watch: CBS
What to Watch For: Watch out for the Rams’ relentless rush vs. a Tennessee O-line that allowed 6 sacks, 12 QB hits, and 20 pressures in Week 1, while Rams QB Matthew Stafford will likely test a defense that allowed 317 yards. For their part, Tennessee managed just 133 and 2.4 yards per play on Opening Day.
Keep an eye on WR Davante Adams’ timing with Stafford after a 4-reception and 51-yard debut.
Tennessee has to improve upon last week's 62 net pass yards and 55 plays to keep pace with the Rams’ 83.3% pressure rate.
Best Pick: Davante Adams 5.5 Receptions
- The future Hall of Fame receiver had 4 receptions on 8 targets in Week 1, second most on the team.
- He garnered a 27.6% target share from Matthew Stafford.
- WR Courtland Sutton had 6 receptions for 61 yards and 1 TD against the Titans' secondary last week.
New Orleans Saints vs. San Francisco 49ers
Time: 1 p.m. ET
Where to Watch: FOX
What to Watch For: With TE George Kittle and QB Brock Purdy out for Week 2. the short-handed 49ers will likely lean on Christian McCaffrey after the do-it-all RB delivered a 31-touch, 142-yard performance in Week 1. With QB Mac Jones managing the offense, we might see plenty of heavy screens and angle routes.
Best Pick: Christian McCaffrey 119.5 Rush+Rec Yds
- McCaffrey had 8.1 YPC and 3.1 YPC in the Niners' Week 1 win.
- The Saints allowed 146 rushing yards to Arizona in Week 1.
Baltimore Ravens vs. Cleveland Browns
Time: 1 p.m. ET
Where to Watch: CBS
What to Watch For: Baltimore RB Derrick Henry led the NFL with 169 rushing yards, while QB Lamar Jackson added 209 passing yards and 70 rushing yards in a 41–40 shootout Week 1 loss at Buffalo.
Cleveland’s defense held Cincinnati to 159 total yards and 17 points in Week 1's 17–16 loss, flashing an elite pass rush and sticky coverage. If DE Myles Garrett’s and his front can squeeze zone lanes, force third-and-long, and keep Henry cleanly tackled before contact while containing Jackson’s scrambles, King Henry might be kept (sort of) under wraps.
Best Pick: Derrick Henry 94.5 Rush Yards
- In Week 1, Henry exploded for 169 rushing yards on 18 carries (9.4 YPC) and 2 TDs.
- Over his last two outings against the Browns, he averaged 105.5 rushing yards per game.
- Henry has averaged 116.1 rushing yards per game over the past two seasons, second in the NFL.
- The future Hall of Famer led all RBs in YPC (5.9) in 2024, with 909 yards after contact to go with 42 broken tackles.
Indianapolis Colts vs. Denver Broncos
Time: 4:05 p.m. ET
Where to Watch: CBS
What to Watch For: Colts QB Daniel Jones threw for 272 yards and 1 passing TD, while rushing for 2 TDs. As for Denver, Broncos signal caller Bo Nix passed for 176 yards.
Watch Indy’s secondary — thinned out after DB Jaylon Jones’s hamstring injury — against WR Courtland Sutton, who compiled 61 receiving yards. last week. RB Jonathan Taylor’s — who racked up 71 rush yards in Week 1 — will challenge Denver’s dynamic front seven.
Best Pick: Courtland Sutton 64.5 Receiving Yards
- HC Sean Payton funnels 48.2% of the teams’ air yards to Sutton.
- Sutton had a target share of 22.5% in Denver’s Week 1 win.
Arizona Cardinals vs. Carolina Panthers
Time: 4:05 p.m. ET
Where to Watch: CBS
What to Watch For: Arizona quarterback Kyler Murray kicked off the season nicely in Week 1, throwing for 163 yards and 2 TDs, connecting 5 times with rookie Marvin Harrison Jr. for 71 yards. The Cardinals held off a late Saints rally 20-13.
Meanwhile, Carolina QB Bryce Young struggled mightily in the Panthers' Week 1 blowout loss to Jacksonville, managing just 154 passing yards and 1 TD with 2 INTs in a 26-10 defeat. The Panthers allowed 200 rushing yards, with Travis Etienne Jr. gashing them for 143 yards. Young also turned the ball over 3 times, and the Panthers generated 0 sacks.
If Carolina's defense can't pressure Murray like the Saints did (6 sacks), this could get ugly quickly.
Best Pick: James Conner 64.5 Rush Yards
- In 2024, James Conner averaged 68.4 rushing yards per game.
- Over his last five games dating back to last year, he’s averaged 72 rushing yards, hitting 90-plus rushing yards in three his outings.
Kansas City Chiefs vs. Philadelphia Eagles
Time: 4:25 p.m. ET
Where to Watch: FOX
What to Watch For: Kansas City QB Patrick Mahomes will roll with a depleted receiving corps against a stingy Eagles secondary after his top deep threat, WR Xavier Worthy, suffered a dislocated shoulder and was officially ruled out for Week 2. In Week 1, Mahomes still hit on 24-of-39 passes for 258 yards and a touchdown, but Kansas City’s offense lacked its usual vertical spark without Worthy’s wheels.
Philadelphia QB Jalen Hurts dismantled Dallas on the ground, piling up 62 yards and 2 rushing TDs on 14 carries. But his aerial attack stalled, with WR A.J. Brown targeted just once, a pass he caught for 8 yards. On the plus side, Brown has averaged over 76 receiving yards in games following subpar performances.
Best Pick: A.J. Brown 71.5 Receiving Yards
- The Chiefs secondary was carved up last week by QB Justin Herbert for 318 passing yards and 3 TDs.
- WRs Quentin Johnston and Ladd McConkey both topped 71.5 receiving yards against the Chiefs.
- In 2024, A.J. Brown averaged 83.0 receiving yards per game.
Minnesota Vikings vs. Atlanta Falcons
Time: 8:20 p.m. ET
Where to Watch: NBC
What to Watch For: Vikings QB J.J. McCarthy heads into his home debut on Sunday Night Football coming off of a 27–24 last-gasp win over the Bears, having thrown for 143 yards and 2 passing TDs, as well as a rushing tuddy. In his encore, McCarthy faces an Atlanta defense that allowed 23 points and 358 total yards — 298 through the air — in its opener.
Best Pick: J.J. McCarthy 16.5 Fantasy Score
- In his NFL debut, J.J. McCarthy scored 22 fantasy points against the Chicago Bears.
- McCarthy has the ability to extend plays with his legs, as borne out by his 25 rushing yards and rushing TD in Minny's Week 1 win.
- The Atlanta Falcons surrendered 22 fantasy points to Baker Mayfield in Week 1 with 167 passing yards and 3 TDs.
With the NFL back in full swing, our Sundays have gotten so much better. A lot of divisional matchups again in Week 2 should make for some exciting scoreboard watching.
