In just one week, a once-revered fantasy quarterback deity evolved from a season-ruining danger to Danger Russ.

Giants QB Russell Wilson turned back the clock on Sunday, delivering a vintage performance against the Dallas Cowboys, finishing Week 2 at fantasy's QB2, as per Fantasy Pros. This comes after a Week 1 mess in which he managed a piddly 11.1 fantasy points.

As of this writing, Wilson is available in 49.8% of all Yahoo leagues, making him one of the waiver wire pickups that might to help your team fill the Joe Burrow-sized hole on your roster.

Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Targets After Week 2

Giants QB Russell Wilson

The former Seahawk legend did all he could to put the Giants in position for their first win of the season, the highlight being a moonball to WR Malik Nabers with under 30 seconds left in regulation. Unfortunately, the Giants came up short in overtime, but not before a performance from Wilson that will be remembered all season.

The veteran signal caller completed 30-of-41 passes (73.2%) for 450 yards, 3 TDs, and 1 INT, good for nearly 31 fantasy points in most formats. He also paced the entire league in both passing yards (450) and air yards (522) in Week 2.

While he did this against a struggling Cowboys defense, the outing may still give HC Brian Daboll pause before handing the reins to rookie QB Jaxson Dart. Wilson looks like a sneaky Week 3 streamer for fantasy managers suddenly seeking a QB after numerous injuries to featured play callers like Burrow, Vikings QB JJ McCarthy, and Jets QB Justin Fields.

In Week 3, the Giants take on Kansas City, who have given up the ninth-most fantasy points to QBs (19.7) through two weeks.

QB Waiver Wire Pickups To Consider

  • Mac Jones (SF) vs. ARI: Jones finished as the Fantasy Pros’ Week 2 QB9 with 279 passing yards, 3 TDs, and no picks in his first start with San Francisco. Niners HC Kyle Shanahan could keep Jones fantasy-relevant in the wake of Brock Purdy’s absence. Jones faces off against Arizona in Week 3, which allows the eighth-most passing yards per game (255.5) to opposing QBs.
  • Spencer Rattler (NO) @ SEA:  Rattler had an efficient week, completing 25 of his 34 passes (73.5%) for 207 yards and 3 TDs against San Francisco, good for 21.7 fantasy points in standard leagues. His Week 3 matchup against Seattle is a decent one, as they allow 233 yards per game through the air.
  • Jake Browning (CIN) @ MIN: Browning led the Bengals to a win with 241 passing yards, 2 TDs, and 3 INTs, finishing the day with 20.7 fantasy points. Now as the temp QB1 in Cincinnati, the 29-year-old has the potential to be a viable streaming option for fantasy managers until Burrow's return. He gets his first start against a Minnesota Vikings D that allows 14.8 fantasy points per game to opposing QBs.

Jaguars RB Bhayshul Tuten

The 5'9" Virginia Tech mighty-mite should be a top waiver priority. The breakout game fantasy managers had been waiting for arrived in Week 2, when he finished as Fantasy Pros’ RB16 in PPR with 42 rushing yards, 32 receiving yards, and 1 TD on 10 touches (8 carries, 2 receptions).

Tuten’s 10 touches compared to Travis Etienne’s 16 show he has a growing role in the Jaguars’ offense. In HC Liam Coen’s system at Tampa Bay last year, we saw multiple backs thrive, i.e., Bucky Irving and Rachaad White combined for 1,735 rushing yards and 11 TDs in 2024.

RB Waiver Wire Pickups To Consider

  • Chris Rodriguez Jr. (WAS) vs. LV: With Austin Ekeler tearing his Achilles, Rodriguez — who impressed during the preseason — should see increased opportunity. Though a healthy scratch in Weeks 1 and 2, he’s expected to be more involved alongside fellow rookie Jacory Croskey-Merritt. He gets a home matchup against the Raiders, who allowed 60 rushing yards in Week 1 against New England.
  • Tyler Allgeier (ATL) @ CAR: Allgeier should already be rostered as the top handcuff to Bijan Robinson. His role is growing weekly, and after finishing as Fantasy Pros’ RB17 in Week 2 with 15 PPR points, he’s edging into FLEX consideration. Allgeier and the Falcons take on the Panthers, who've been run all over through two weeks, allowing 19.6 fantasy points per game to opposing RBs.
  • Cam Skattebo (NYG) vs KC: The rookie broke out for Big Blue in Week 2 against Dallas, totaling 45 rushing yards, 14 receiving yards, and 1 TD on 13 touches (11 carries, 2 receptions). His efficiency should keep him heavily involved moving forward, giving fantasy managers a great RB3 snag off the waiver wire. The Giants take on Kansas City on Sunday night, who allow 106 yards per game on the ground.

Titans WR Elic Ayomanor

Much of the preseason wide receiver chatter in Tennessee focused on Calvin Ridley’s uncontested target share, but rookie WR Elic Ayomanor has since made a case for his own piece of the pie, seeing 7 targets in his Week 1 NFL debut against Denver’s stingy defense.

Then in Week 2 against the Rams, he caught 4 of his 6 targets for 56 yards and 1 TD. The rapport with rookie QB Cam Ward and Ayomanor has been noticeable early in the season; we've seen some outrageous throws and catches between the two. If they can continue to develop their chemistry, Ayomanor’s role should continue to expand. With the Titans' upcoming matchups against the Colts, Cardinals, Raiders, and Patriots, Ayomanor has FLEX appeal and should be a priority on your waiver wire.

WR Waiver Wire Pickups To Consider

  • Wan’Dale Robinson (NYG) vs KC: Robinson torched Dallas’ defense last Sunday, catching 8 of 10 targets for a career-high 142 yards and 1 TD, finishing as Fantasy Pros’ WR5 in PPR. With a 25% target share and 7 receptions per game through two weeks, he has clear FLEX value in most fantasy formats. In Week 3, he has a favorable matchup against the Chiefs, whose D allows 32.5 fantasy points per game to opposing WRs.
  • Romeo Doubs (GB) @ CLE: With Jayden Reed sidelined by a broken collarbone, Doubs should see more opportunities. He already holds a 17.6% target share, second on the team behind TE Tucker Kraft. Doubs also scored the Packers' first TD in Week 2 against Washington and finished with 3 receptions for 28 yards. The G-men take on the 0-2 Browns on Sunday, who are 11th (30.4) in fantasy points per game to WRs.
  • Troy Franklin (DEN) @ LAC: Second-year WR Troy Franklin led Denver in snaps (49), routes (29), targets (9), receptions (8), and yards (89) in Week 2. HC Sean Payton has growing trust in Franklin, which makes him a viable streaming candidate. A matchup against the Chargers isn't great on paper, but with a Week 4 faceoff with the Bengals looming, more good days from Franklin could on the way.

Saints TE Juwan Johnson

Fantasy managers who passed on Juwan Johnson after Week 1 waivers are regretting it now. Through two games, he ranks as the TE2 in PPR formats according to Fantasy Pros.

Against San Francisco, J.J. commanded a 26.4% target share while posting 5 catches for 49 yards and a TD, good for 15.9 PPR points. With HC Kellen Moore’s new offensive system, Johnson is second on the team in targets behind only Chris Olave.

Johnson gets the best matchup on the slate in Week 3 against Seattle, who have given up the most fantasy points per game to opposing TEs (16.4). For managers playing tight end roulette, Johnson is a clear must-add with league-winning upside.

TE Waiver Wire Pickups To Consider

  • Harold Fannin Jr. (CLE) vs. GB: After a 7-catch, 63-yard debut that made him the TE6 in PPR in Week 1, Fannin followed up with 5 receptions for 48 yards in Week 2, once again outproducing teammate David Njoku. Fannin has a favorable Week 3 matchup with a home tilt against the Packers, who allow 13.8 fantasy points per game to opposing TEs. For tight end-needy managers, Fannin is an immediate plug-and-play option.
