Minnesota Vikings RB Aaron Jones Sr. suffered an AC joint sprain against the Detroit Lions this past Sunday, as per Tom Pelissero. This is particularly painful for a 4-4 Vikings. team trying to dig itself out of the NFC North basement.
On Sunday, the 30-year-old played 77% of the snaps, reestablishing himself as the clear RB1 in the Vikings’ backfield before he was forced to the trainers room.
Jones has already missed four games this season due to a hamstring injury that landed him on IR. The two injuries are unrelated.
All of which is why our Aaron Jones Jr. injury update is so crucial.

Aaron Jones Injury Update: How Long Is the Vikings RB Out?
Aaron Jones had 98 total yards in the win over the Lions today. Then he left the game with a shoulder injury and didn't return. He told me he's alright and will be back on the field. #Vikings @kare11 pic.twitter.com/eZ6S6YqGSL

Jones is currently listed as questionable for Week 10 against the Baltimore Ravens, but sighs have him trending in the right direction. Vikings head coach Kevin O’Connell said of Jones injury update, “The evaluations have been pretty positive today.”
Start or Sit RB's Aaron Jones or Jordan Mason?
Barring yet another injury, neither Aaron Jones nor Jordan Mason will be a bell cow in Minnesota this season, but could they be sneaky flex plays?
Maybe. When both are healthy, they tend to eat into each other’s workload. In the four games they have played together this season, Jones has gone over 10 fantasy points two times — his best performance came in Week 1, when he finished with 14.2 points — while Mason hasn’t scored more than 8 fantasy points in any of those games.
Jones has led the backfield when both have been on the field at the same time, and could be a potential flex option in Week 10. Mason might be a fade candidate, as he’s averaging just 2.65 fantasy points over the past two games.
The Ravens’ defense has allowed the fifth-most fantasy points to RBs this season at 20.5. But over the past three games, they have allowed just 85.7 rushing yards per game, ranking sixth in the league after allowing 146.4 rushing yards on average in the first five games of their season.
Jones’ upside in Week 10 could be limited if the Ravens continue to build off their recent strong performances against the run.
