During the first half of the 2025 NFL season, Philadelphia Eagles WR A.J. Brown did not put up great numbers. For the first couple of games, he had just one outing of more than 45 receiving yards, compared to 2024 where he opened with three straight games of at least 85. He also looked like he was still finding his footing following an offseason hamstring injury, plus the Eagles were just not getting him enough targets.
However, following a practice where the mercurial WR spoke with Eagles owner Jeff Lurie, things seem to have settled down. Brown has 25 catches on 33 targets over the last three weeks, turning those into 291 yards and 3 TDs.
Let’s take a look at the key A.J. Brown stats, a pick, and PrizePicks projections for tonight’s Monday night matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers.
A.J. Brown Stats, Pick vs. Chargers
The Eagles’ top pass-catcher has been on a roll lately, as the team has directed most of their passing attention towards him in the past two losses against the Dallas Cowboys and Chicago Bears. Brown averaged 121 yards in those two games, compared to 51 yards per game in his other nine this year.
Brown has not had his usual All-Pro level play this season, with only 699 receiving yards so far. Despite having the seventh-best First Read Target Share, per PlayerProfiler, he has not been able to capitalize, with only 1.86 Fantasy Points per Target, 36th in the league.
Getting Brown more involved helps open up the offense and stretch the field, though, so we could continue to see him hyper-targeted by QB Jalen Hurts.

A.J. Brown Projection vs. Chargers: 5 Receptions
Brown is in a good spot heading into what feels like a must-win tilt for the flailing Eagles. Despite losing the last two games where they have prioritized getting Brown involved, Hurts is comfortable when targeting him, and Brown has had at least 5 receptions in seven of his 11 games this season.
While the Chargers have been very good against wide receivers, taller X receivers have played well. Denver's Courtland Sutton, Jacksonville's Jakobi Meyers, Washington's Deebo Samuel, and Minnesota's Justin Jefferson all were able to have at least 5 receptions against the Bolts.
The Chargers give up the seventh-most receptions per game to opposing WR1s, averaging 5.3 catches per game allowed, per FTN Statshub. Brown will be matched up against CB Cam Hart for parts of the game, where he can take advantage of the Chargers’ worst-graded CB in coverage, per PFF.
