As baseball legend Yogi Berra once said, “It’s getting late early.” It might feel like there’s still time to turn your season around, but as we approach Week 8 of the NFL season, we’re just a few weeks away from the fantasy playoffs and the NFL trade deadline — which means your league's trade deadline might be coming up.
There's only a few weeks left to fill those gaps to help make a championship run. And that's why we're here to help with our buy low, sell high fantasy football players ahead of Week 8.
Below, we’ll give three players you should consider trading for your fantasy team, and three that you might want to consider trading away, as they've reached their peak this season — including Jaguars star rookie WR Travis Hunter.
We'll also break down these players' stats projections for Week 8 on PrizePicks — where you can pick More or Less on player stats to win real money during the 2025 NFL season.

Buy Low Fantasy Football Targets: Week 8
Here are some key buy low players who you should consider trading for in Week 8, as well as their projections on PrizePicks' NFL DFS game this week.
Bears WR Rome Odunze
In the world of fantasy football, most managers possess the “what have you done for me lately?” attitude. It was all sunshine and rainbows at the start of the season when Odunze was the WR3 through the first four weeks, but in his last two games, he’s been virtually non-existent as the WR65.
This could be your chance to grab him from a frustrated manager because he could get back to that earlier-season production. He is still on the field for over 94% of the snaps and is 11th in fantasy points per route run (0.54).
There is optimism for the rest of the season as his strength of schedule ranks sixth best for WRs. In Week 8, the Bears face the Ravens, who are allowing the second-most points per game to wide receivers (26.0). Now could be the best time to make a move.

Patriots RB Rhamondre Stevenson
The Patriots have struggled in the run game this season, as they rank 22nd in rushing yards per game (103.4) and 31st in rushing success rate (32.7%). It has not hindered this offense, thanks to second-year QB Drake Maye’s breakout season, and is sixth in passing yards (1,744) and third in quarterback rating (116.4).
Despite their problems with the run game, the status quo remains with Stevenson dominating the backfield. He’s even seen a boost in snaps with more than a 70% snap share in each of the last two games over rookie TreVeyon Henderson.
However, it hasn’t resulted in the production you were probably hoping for. He has just three finishes inside the top 20 against Buffalo, Tennessee, and Miami, who are each in the bottom five in points allowed to running backs.
You’re likely thinking, “So why are we buying low?” That’s because the Patriots will continue to give him the ball, and he’ll face some mediocre run defenses, including the Bills in Week 15 and the Ravens in Week 16, which is likely your fantasy playoffs.
This is a great opportunity to get someone you know who will get the ball and won’t need much to acquire. Stevenson isn’t someone you want to carry your team, but is a great RB2/flex option, or someone to plug in on a bye week.

- 63.5 Rush+Rec Yards
Saints RB Alvin Kamara
Kamara is a PPR gold mine because he is heavily used as a receiver and currently has 25 catches, ranking fifth among running backs. Likely one of the greatest receiving running backs this century, he has six seasons with at least 68 catches.
This has allowed him to clear 1,000 yards from scrimmage in each of his first eight years.
Currently coming in as the RB22, he could potentially see a surge in the upcoming weeks. The season-ending injury to RB Kendre Miller could mean the Saints rely more on Kamara. We saw that in Week 7 against the Bears, after Miller went down, Kamara dominated with 84% of the snaps.
Even better news is that this didn’t increase RB Devin Neal’s workload, as he was only on the field for seven plays.
We can likely put the Kamara trade rumors to bed, but New Orleans might unload other offensive players, which could mean more focus on the Saints' dual threat.

Fantasy Football Sell High: Players Week 8
Here are some key players to sell high on for fantasy football after overachieving thus far, plus their projections on PrizePicks' real money NFL DFS game this week.
Jaguars WR Travis Hunter
It’s been frustrating to have Hunter in your lineup every week, especially in an IDP league. Strictly from an offensive standpoint, he’s coming into Week 8 as the WR43. In Week 7 against the Rams, he had his first 100+ yard receiving game and touchdown.
You might think this is the start of something, especially if Brian Thomas Jr. misses time with a shoulder injury. However, this could be trending as a one-off. In that game against Los Angeles, Jacksonville was down multiple possessions, so the game script forced them to air it out.
The Jags' passing game has been below average, with QB Trevor Lawrence ranked 25th in EPA per play (0.016) and 26th in success rate (43.8%). This has not given Hunter a chance to succeed as he is 73rd in target premium (+-22.5%) and 81st in dominator rating (7.4%).
Look to see if you can find someone who will like Hunter’s potential target volume if Thomas misses time.
Titans RB Tony Pollard
The Titans are a dumpster fire on top of a tire fire at 1-6, but it could be worse; they could be the winless Jets.
They are statistically the worst offense in the league, as they are last in points scored per game (13.7), total yards (235.6), and EPA per play (-0.210). This had made everybody on this team unable to put into your fantasy lineup, including Pollard.
The former Cowboys RB has only three appearances inside the top 20, has yet to finish in the top 15 at RB, and now is starting to see his touches drop. With RB Tyjae Spears returning from an injury in Week 6, he has cut into Pollard's carries, and Week 7 against the Patriots was the first time he didn’t get double-digit carries.
Pollard’s biggest saving grace against New England was the check-downs, which resulted in six catches.
The best way to sell Pollard to an RB-needy team is to package him as someone who could get a lot of targets. This could happen, especially with reports that the Titans are simplifying the offense for QB Cam Ward.

- 124.5 Receiving Yards
- 10 Fantasy Score
- 0.5 Rush+Rec TD (Demon)
- 57.5 Rush+Rec Yards
Bears RB D’Andre Swift
If there is ever a time to get the best return for Swift, this could be it. Swift had an impressive performance in Week 7 against the Saints, thanks to 138 yards from scrimmage and a rush TD.
This narrative feels very familiar. Swift has a history of performing well coming off a bye; over his last five games following a week off, he’s averaging 133.8 yards from scrimmage and has scored in four. Unfortunately, he struggles to maintain that momentum. In the game following those performances, he's failed to go over 100 yards from scrimmage in four.
Let's not forget that before these two games. Swift had not rushed for 100 yards in a game since Week 8 of 2024, averaging just 3.8 yards per carry on the year. Even under a new offensive scheme with Ben Johnson, it's hard to see this run from Swift continuing.
Swifties will also not like his remaining strength of schedule, which ranks as the 10th worst for RBs.
We also saw rookie RB Kyle Monangai get a career-high 13 carries in Week 7, which made him a popular waiver wire target. It could be because the Bears were in control of that game, or maybe he could get an expanded role in the future.
Swift is a brand name coming off two top-ten performances, so you could get a beneficial return for someone likely to regress in the upcoming weeks.
